As part of Snowsgiving, Discord has given its client a light Christmas makeover; part of this includes new jingly sounds for every notification. At first, this new notification sound pack was enabled by default. However, Discord has changed it to be opt in.
So, whether you want to enable or disable the new Snowsgiving notification sound pack on desktop, we’re going to show you how.
How to Enable or Disable Discord’s Snowsgiving Sounds
In the bottom left, click the cog icon to open User Settings. Beneath App Settings, click Notifications. Beneath Sounds, use the Sound Pack dropdown to select Classic or Snowsgiving. You can also toggle the sound on or off for each notification type. Hover and click the speaker icon if you want to hear the sound.
It’s likely that the Snowsgiving sound pack will disappear soon after the event finishes, so give it a shot while you can. Though some of the sounds are slightly annoying, perhaps they’ll grow on you as we approach Christmas.
You can also turn off the Snowsgiving theme entirely, if you’re a Grinch. To do this, go to User Settings > Appearance > Toggle Show Seasonal Theme. This disables elements like the snow-covered Discord logo and the link to the Snowsgiving event page.
Have Some Holiday Fun With Discord
Discord makes it fun and easy to chat with your friends, and tweaks to the interface and notification sounds for Snowsgiving are charming. Why not take it a step further and upload some custom festive-themed emojis and stickers to really get in the holiday spirit?
